Maple-Thyme Glazed Salmon

Ingredients

  1. 3 tbsp (45 mL) maple syrup
  2. 1 tbsp (15 mL) brown sugar
  3. 2 tbsp (30 mL) finely chopped fresh thyme
  4. 3/4 tsp (4 mL) salt
  5. 1/4 tsp (1 mL) freshly ground pepper
  6. 4 centre-cut skin-on salmon fillets (about 5 oz/150 g each)
  7. 8 thin slices lemon
  8. 1 cedar plank, soaked according to package directions

Method

  1. In small bowl, stir together maple syrup, brown sugar, thyme, salt and pepper.  
  2. Place salmon skin-side down on cedar plank and brush with maple glaze. Arrange lemon slices on top of salmon.   
  3. Preheat grill to medium-high; grease grate well. Close lid and grill for 15 to 17 minutes or until salmon flakes when tested with fork and flesh is opaque. Serve immediately.
