Ingredients

2/3 cup
Sensations Salsa Verde
1
ripe avocado, cut into chunks
1
lime
2 tbsp
Sensations Extra Virgin 100% Olive Oil
13/4-2 pounds
Bone-in New York Strip Steak
3/4-inch

large sweet onions, cut into quarters
Salt and freshly ground pepper

Method

Step 1
Preheat a charcoal or gas barbecue grill to high heat.
Step 2
In a bowl, mash together salsa and avocado until smooth.
Step 3
Squeeze lime over salsa and mix juice in.
Step 4
Set aside.
Step 5
Brush olive oil over meat and onions; season to taste with salt and pepper.
Step 6
Lay steaks and onions over heat.
Step 7
If using a gas grill, close lid and open vents.
Step 8
Cook, turning meat and onions a few times until steaks are done to your liking and onions are browned and softened, 10-12 minutes for rare.
Step 9
Onions will begin to separate into layers so remove layers from grill as done.
Step 10
Transfer meat and onions to a large serving platter.
Step 11
Cut meat across the grain into slices.
Step 12
Serve with salsa verde mixture to add to taste.
