In a 5 to 6-quart pan, bring 3 quarts of salted water to a boil over high heat.
Add spaghetti and cook until pasta is tender to bite, about 12 minutes.
Meanwhile, whirl bread in a food processor until coarse crumbs form.
Melt butter in a 12-inch nonstick frying pan over medium-high heat.
Add bread and cook, stirring often, until crumbs are lightly toasted, 9-10 minutes.
Watch carefully so they don’t burn.
Remove from heat and transfer to a plate.
Wipe frying pan clean and return it to high heat.
Add broth, olives, garlic, and 2 tablespoons olive oil.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 2 minutes.
When spaghetti is done, drain it well then return it to its cooking pan.
Add the hot broth mixture along with the tuna, toasted bread crumbs, and chives.
Mix well then transfer to a serving bowl and serve immediately.
Offer additional olive oil to drizzle over portions to taste.
