  • 1/2 cup steak sauce
  • 1/2 cup Compliments Mayonnaise
  • 1 package flank steak (approx 18-24 oz.)
  • 2-3 tablespoons Compliments Steak Spice
  • 4-6 thick sliced grilled red onion rings
  • 2 tablespoons Sensations Extra Virgin 100% Olive Oil
  • 4 Artisan Focaccia Loaf, cut into half
  • 4 slices horseradish white cheddar
  • 4-6 spears Compliments Organic Hearts of Romaine
  • salt and pepper to taste


  1. Make sandwich spread by combining steak sauce and mayonnaise. Chill until ready to use. 
  2. Season steak with steak rub, liberally coating each side of the steak, and pressing the rub into the meat. 
  3. Prepare a medium temperature grill. Spray or coat grates with nonstick spray or olive oil.
  4. Place steak onto the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare/medium. Transfer to lower heat area and finish cooking to desired doneness.
  5. Remove steak to platter. Allow to rest for 3-4 minutes before slicing.
  6. Grill onions, dressed with olive oil, salt and pepper, until cooked soft and tender.
  7. Toast bread on grill. To build sandwiches, slice meat across the grain into thin slices. 
  8. Dress bread with steak sauce dressing; layer flank steak, grilled onions, white cheddar, and romaine. 
  9. Add an extra drizzle of steak sauce and serve.
