Grocery Giveaways is a challenge-based contest that customers can participate in.  To participate you must download the Sobeys, Safeway, Foodland and/or FreshCo app, create an account and link your Scene+ card.

No, a pre-requisite of playing the game is downloading the applicable banner apps (Sobeys, Safeway, Foodland and/or FreshCo).  

Yes, you can complete challenges in all apps simultaneously and your Chips earned will be cumulative.

Chips are what you earn throughout the contest when completing challenges.  These Chips can be allocated to a Sweepstake prize entry of your choice.

To collect Chips, you need to complete Grocery Giveaway challenges every week (Thursday to Wednesday) from March 26 to April 29, 2026. New challenges can be viewed each week by clicking on Challenges in the grocery apps.

You can view weekly challenges within the app.  Each challenge will have different instructions and once completed, you will be awarded with Chips to allocate towards a sweepstakes prize.  Please read the challenge instructions carefully to ensure you are properly completing the game.

If you landed on a bonus Chips slice on the Spin to Win wheel, the bonus Chips will be added to your Chips balance immediately. If you landed on a Scene+ Points Offer, the offer will be available within seventy-two (72) hours of landing on this slice in the Spin To Win Wheel challenge. To claim this offer, you must first load the digital offer by clicking on the offers tab in the app. You must present and swipe or scan your Scene+ card during your next in-store purchase in a single transaction at the participating banner store. A minimum purchase of $10.00 is required. The qualifying purchase must be made by May 6, 2026. This offer excludes gift cards, deposits, and any other items not discountable or excluded by law or as we determine from time to time. We reserve the right to rescind the offer if we determine, in our sole discretion, there is abuse of the offer or unauthorized or ineligible use of the offer. This offer is subject to cancellation or modification at our discretion without notice.

Once your Spin to Win points offer has been awarded and added to your account, you have until May 6, 2026 to redeem your offer.

All registered members are entitled to one play per week (Thursday – Wednesday), starting on March 26, 2026 until April 29, 2026.

All registered members can only play the Spin to Win challenge once per week (Thursday – Wednesday). If you have already completed your challenge for the week, you will need to come back the following Thursday when a new play is available during the Contest Period.

The Spin to Win Scene+ points offer expires on May 6, 2026. If you have not redeemed this offer by May 6, 2026, then you will no longer be able to redeem it as the offer has expired and is void.

You can see the details of any rewards you have available under the Your Rewards section of the game. You can click the offer details button to see the specific details of the active prizes you have won.  

Chips can be entered into the Sweepstakes until May 6, 2026.  After that, the Chips will be void.

By completing challenges, you can earn Chips. These Chips give you a chance to win one of the Sweepstakes prizes. You decide how many Chips go to the Sweepstakes prize of your choice. Each entry is equal to one chance to win that Sweepstakes prize. Once the Chips are submitted into the desired Sweepstake, the Chips cannot be withdrawn.

You can check your current balance on the app within the Grocery Giveaways My Rewards section. Your Chips balance displays the sum of all your earned Chips from your completed challenges across Sobeys, Safeway, Foodland and FreshCo/Chalo! Banners.

After each store visit, reopen the mobile app and click on the Offers tab to earn any Chips from your redeemed mobile offers. Then click on the Grocery Giveaways Leaderboard to refresh and view all your earned balance.

Close the game and re-open it, navigate to the Offers Tab in your app and you will see the offer tile there. You have until May 6, 2026 to redeem your Free Item Offer and after this date, the offer expires and is void.

No, unfortunately you will not be able to transfer earned Grocery Giveaways Chips to another user.

No you do not. However, in order to receive the maximum number of entries, there are both no purchase options and purchase options within the Grocery Giveaways Contest.

Create an account on voila.ca or login if you already have an existing account. Proceed to book a timeslot, add items into your cart, proceed to the checkout, and enter the voucher code. Please check the voucher code’s fine print on usage restrictions and expiry. Please note, we do not accept manufacturer’s coupons.

You will be contacted via phone or email with the details of the draw and prize you have won.

The draw will take place on May 26, 2026 and then we will start to contact the potential winners. Potential winner outreach and communication will be from the email address  sceneplusprizes[at]sobeys.ca

If you don't have a Scene+ Card, you can ask the cashier in store or at the customer service desk of your store. It is possible to register online for free at www.sceneplus.ca/register.  You can then link your Scene+ number to your grocery account (Sobeys, Safeway, FreshCo, Foodland) and use your virtual or physical card in your mobile app to earn points while shopping in store.
