How does Verified Prices work?

The Verified Prices promotion means we commit to having the lowest price on products featured in our flyer with the Verified Prices icon. If a product in our flyer with the Verified Prices icon is available at a lower price at a selected competing supermarket*, you will automatically get the difference in Scene+ points.
*For a limited time only. If a brick and mortar supermarket competitor offers a lower price on an identical product, upon purchase of that product, you will automatically receive the difference in Scene+ points. Scene+ digital or physical card must be presented at time of transaction. Only applies to products in flyer marked with the Verified Prices icon. Does not apply to competitor errors or competitor promotions. No cash value. Valid at participating Sobeys stores for the weekly flyer period. Program subject to change without notice. Valid at participating Sobeys stores for the flyer period, unless specifically stated otherwise in the flyer. The Verified Prices Program (the “Program”) is offered by Safeway in Western Canada (AB, MB, SK, Northern ON) for a limited time and applies only to products in flyer marked with the Verified Prices icon. The Program is subject to the following conditions:
Lowest Price Determination: We commit to having the lowest advertised price on specifically marked products. These prices are validated on Wednesdays before they go into effect. Our validations are based on the flyers of Competing Supermarkets (as defined below).
Scene+ Points Guarantee: If a lower or equal price on an Identical Product (as defined below) is found at a Competing Supermarket, we will match the difference in Scene+ points. At least 1 Scene+ point, worth one (1) cent, will be automatically credited to your Scene+ account upon presentation of your physical or digital Scene+ card. Sobeys reserves the right to limit quantities.
Identical Products: An identical product is defined as a product of the same brand, size, type, attributes and preparation, that is priced using the same unit of measurement (item sold by weight or unit).
Competing Supermarkets:
- Northern Ontario: Metro
- Prairies Wide Competitors: Walmart, Real Canadian Superstore, No Frills, Save-On, IGA, Federated Co-op/Red River Co-op, FreshCo
- South Alberta Specific: Calgary Co-op
- North Alberta Specific: Friesen/Edmonton
Competing Supermarkets only includes brick and mortar locations and this Program does not apply to competitor e-commerce platforms or online pricing.
Mechanism: Scan your physical or digital Scene+ membership card when making purchases.
Validity: The Program is valid during the weekly period of the flyer in which the lowest product’s price is advertised, unless specifically stated otherwise in the flyer. The Program excludes Competing Supermarket promotions or pricing errors.
Rainchecks: The Program does not apply to items purchased with a raincheck. No rainchecks will be issued for the difference in Scene+ points.
Program modifications: Safeway reserves the right to modify or terminate the Program at any timewithout notice, in its sole and absolute discretion.
