Orange Spice Mulled Apple Cider
Ingredients

4 cups (1 L) fresh apple cider

1 cinnamon stick

1 small orange, halved and sliced into half-moons

6 whole cloves
-
3 whole star anise
-
1/4 tsp (1 mL) ground allspice
Method
- Combine apple cider, cinnamon stick, orange slices, cloves, star anise and allspice in large saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, and then reduce heat to low. Simmer, covered, 15 to 20 min. (If you prefer a stronger flavour, turn off the heat and steep another 20 min.)
- Strain, reserving orange slices. Ladle into mugs and garnish with reserved orange slices.
