Ingredients

  • 1 cup (250 mL) Compliments Pitted Dates
  • 1 cup (250 mL) Compliments Unsalted Cashews
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) Compliments Coconut Milk
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract

Method

  1. In separate bowls, soak dates and cashews at least 2 hr. and up to overnight.
  2. Reserving soaking liquids, drain dates and cashews. Place dates, cashews, coconut milk and vanilla into blender or food processor; puree until smooth. Thin with 1 to 2 tbsp (15 to 30 mL) reserved soaking liquids, if needed, for dipping sauce texture.
  3. Serve with fruit such as strawberries, pineapple, cantaloupe, banana or kiwi.

Tips:

Eat leftover sauce with yogourt or add into smoothies.
