1 box Mostaccioli
salt
1 pound Compliments Mild Italian Sausage, casings removed
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
1 jar Arrabiata Sauce
1 can cannellini beans, rinsed and drained
½ cup Compliments Shredded Parmesan Cheese
Directions
1In a 5- to 6-quart pan, bring 3 quarts of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add mostaccioli and cook, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender to bite, about 12 minutes.
2Meanwhile, combine sausage, onion, and garlic in a 12-inch nonstick frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring often and breaking up sausage into bite-size pieces as it cooks, until well browned, 8-10 minutes. Drain off and discard any excess fat in pan.
3To sausage mixture add arrabiata sauce and beans. Cook over mediumhigh heat, stirring often, until hot, 3-4 minutes. When pasta is done, drain it well then return it to pan. Add sauce and 1/2 cup parmesan. Mix well then spoon into serving bowls. Offer additional cheese to add to taste if desired.
Tips
1
To lower the fat, use Italian turkey sausage.
