1 ½ lbs thinly sliced Sirloin Cap or Top Sirloin Steak
1 cup Asian pear
¼ cup soy sauce
2 tbsp finely grated garlic
1 tbsp finely grated ginger
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp gochujang
2 tbsp canola oil
Udon noodles, cooked
1 ½ cup julienne red pepper, about 1 pepper
2 cups small broccoli florets, about 1 head
⅓ cup finely sliced green onions, white and green parts separated, about 2 onions
1 tsp sesame seeds
¼ tsp pepper
Directions
1Finely grate the pear and transfer to a clean bowl/container, add the soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, brown sugar, sesame oil, and gochujang, mix well. Thinly slice the steak and add it to the marinade, mix well to coat evenly, cover and let sit for 30 minutes or refrigerate.
2Heat 1 tbsp (15 mL) of canola oil in a large grill pan or skillet over medium high heat. Remove the sliced steak from the marinade. Add just enough bulgogi marinated steak to cover the bottom of the pan in an even single layer. Season lightly with pepper and cook for 1-2 mins, until lightly charred and browned, turn the steak over and cook an additional 1-2 mins. Transfer the cooked bulgogi steak to a clean plate and repeat the process with the remaining marinated steak.
3Using the same pan, reduce the heat to medium, add the broccoli florets and cook stirring occasionally until lightly charred and tender, about 4 mins. Add the red pepper, cooking for 2 mins. Stir in the udon noodles, finely sliced white part of the green onions and bulgogi beef along with any juices. Mix well, cooking to heat the noodles through, approx. 4 mins.
4Transfer to clean plates/platter, garnish with the sesame seeds and finely sliced green onion.
