Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Compliments Beef Broth
  • 2 tablespoons Compliments Soya Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Compliments Cornstarch
  • 21/2 tablespoons Asian sesame oil
  • 11/3 pounds Loin Boneless New York Strip Steak, cut crosswise into thin slices
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
  • 1 package (12 ounces) Compliments Broccoli Florettes

Method

  1. In small bowl, mix together broth, soy sauce, and cornstarch until smoothly blended. Set aside.
  2. Place a 12 or 14-inch nonstick frying pan over high heat. 
  3. Add 1 tablespoon sesame oil. 
  4. When oil is very hot, add sliced beef. 
  5. Stir constantly until beef is well browned, but still rare in center (cut to test), 1-2 minutes. 
  6. With a slotted spoon, transfer beef to a plate and set aside.
  7. Add 1 more tablespoon sesame oil to pan. 
  8. Add onion, ginger, and garlic. 
  9. Stirconstantly over high heat until onion is tender-crisp when pierced, 1-2 minutes.
  10. Add broccoli florettes and cook, stirring constantly, until broccoli is bright green and tender-crisp when pierced, about 2 more minutes.
  11. Stir broth mixture and add to vegetables in pan. 
  12. Stir over heat until sauce boils and thickens, about 30 seconds. 
  13. Return meat (and any juices) to pan and stir over heat just until meat is hot, about 1 minute. 
  14. Transfer to a serving dish, drizzle with remaining sesame oil and serve immediately.
