Ingredients

2 cups
milk
500 mL
2 tbsp
firmly packed brown sugar
30 mL
1 tsp
ground ginger
5 mL
1/2 tsp
ground cinnamon
2 mL
1/4 tsp
ground nutmeg
1 mL
pinch each cloves and pepper
4 cups
brewed coffee, such as Compliments Vanilla Hazelnut 100% Arabica Beans
1 L
1/4 cup
35% whipping cream, whipped to stiff peaks
60 mL
2 tbsp
finely chopped toasted hazelnuts
30 mL

Method

Step 1

Combine milk, brown sugar, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and pepper in medium saucepan set over medium-low heat. Cook, stirring often, 3 to 5 min. until steaming. Whisk with frother or hand blender until frothy.

Step 2

Divide hot coffee among 6 large mugs. Pour frothy milk over coffee. Top with dollop of whipped cream. Garnish with hazelnuts.

Tips

Spike lattes with 2 tbsp (30 mL) Frangelico or your favourite liqueur.
Sweeten whipped cream to taste
