Spicy Rye & Ginger Shandy

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups (500 mL) lemonade
  2. 1 bottle (330 mL) Canadian lager
  3. 1 cup (250 mL) ginger ale
  4. 1/4 cup (60 mL) Canadian whisky
  5. ice cubes
  6. 1/4 tsp (1 mL) cayenne pepper
  7. 4 lemon twists
  8. 4 red finger chilis
  9. 2 tsp (10 mL) candied ginger
  10. 4 wooden or metal cocktail skewers

Method

  1. In large pitcher, combine lemonade, beer, ginger ale and whisky
  2. Add ice cubes to 4 four tall glasses. Top with lemonade mixture. Sprinkle with cayenne pepper. Garnish each drink with a skewer threaded with a lemon twist, finger chili and pieces of candied ginger.

 

Tip: Use non-alcoholic ginger beer in place of ginger ale and lager for a virgin twist
