Serrano Ham Reuben Sandwich

  1. 8 slices Swiss cheese
  2. 8 slices marble rye bread
  3. 3/4 cup (175 mL) sauerkraut, squeezed dry
  4. 2 tbsp (30 mL) Thousand Island dressing
  5. 8 slices Sensations by Compliments Serrano Ham, prosciutto or other cured ham
  6. 2 tbsp (30 mL) butter, room temperature
  7. pickles, for serving (optional)


  1. Divide half the cheese slices onto 4 bread slices. Top with sauerkraut, dressing, Serrano ham and remaining cheese. Cap with remaining bread slices. Spread butter on outsides of sandwiches.
  2. Heat skillet over medium-low heat. Pan-fry sandwiches 5 to 7 min. turning once, until the bread is toasted and cheese is melted. Cut in half and serve with pickles, if desired.
