Ingredients

  • 1 lb (500 g) stir-fry beef strips or fast-fry steak cut into strips
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) each salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) Honey Garlic Sauce, divided
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) fresh lime juice
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) minced fresh ginger
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) vegetable oil
  • 1 pkg (340 g) Vegetable Stir Fry
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 4 cups (1 L) cooked basmati rice

Method

  1. Toss beef with salt, pepper and 1/4 cup (60 mL) honey garlic sauce; set aside. Combine the remaining sauce with 1/2 cup (125 mL) water, lime juice and ginger. Whisk in cornstarch. Reserve.
  2. Heat oil in a wok or deep skillet set over high heat. Add vegetables. Stir-fry for 3 to 5 min. or until tender. Transfer to a clean plate.
  3. Pour meat mixture into wok and stir-fry for 2 to 3 min. or until slightly brown. Return vegetables to the pan and toss. Make a well in the centre of the skillet and pour in sauce mixture; bring to a boil. Mix meat and vegetables until well-coated in sauce. Stir in green onions and serve over hot rice.
Tip:
Picking up a bag of prepared veggies is a real time-saver. You'll skip all the washing and chopping while still using fresh vegetables.
