Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups (625 mL) unsweetened almond milk, chilled
  • 2 fresh or frozen bananas
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL ) hemp seeds (optional)
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) almond butter
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) honey
  • a few drops blue food colouring
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) fat-free vanilla frozen yogourt
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) fresh blueberries

Method

  1. Into blender, add almond milk, bananas (break into large chunks), hemps seeds (if using), almond butter, honey and food colouring. Process until smooth and creamy. Pour into 4 glasses.
  2. Top each smoothie with a dollop of frozen yogourt and fresh blueberries.

Tips:
  • Substitute almond milk with cashew, soy or other vegan milk.
  • Instead of food colouring, blitz a handful of blueberries into the smoothie. It won't be bright blue, but a blueberry hue instead. 
  • Turn leftover smoothies into popsicles.
