Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Compliments Soya Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Compliments Granulated Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 3/4-2 pounds Top Sirloin Steak, fat trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons Compliments Vegetable Oil or Sensations Extra Virgin 100% Olive Oil 11/2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger
  • 1/2 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 package (12 ounces) Compliments Broccoli Slaw
  • 8-12 warm flour tortillas (soft taco size) hoisin sauce

Method

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, and cornstarch until smooth; set aside. 
  2. Cut steak into strips about 1/2-inch thick and 2-3 inches long. 
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a 12-inch nonstick frying pan over high heat. 
  4. Add half the beef and cook, stirring constantly, until meat is lightly browned but still red in center, about 1 minute. 
  5. Transfer to a platter and repeat to cook remaining meat. 
  6. Set meat aside.
  7. Add remaining olive oil, garlic and ginger to pan. 
  8. Stir over high heat until sizzling and fragrant, about 30 seconds. 
  9. Add broccoli slaw and 1/2 cup water. 
  10. Cook, stirring often, until slaw is tender-crisp to bite, 2-3 minutes.
  11. Add soy sauce mixture and beef and cook, stirring constantly, just until sauce thickens and meat is heated through, about 1 minute. 
  12. Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish.
  13. To eat, spread a tortilla with a dab of hoisin, top with meat mixture and wrap up to eat.
